Display Panel

It's fast and easy to control the columns in the datapp. Using the Display Panel you can add or remove columns with just a click. You can also reorder the columns and determine which ones are Fixed on the left side of the page by dragging the heading of the column.

Display Panel Tip

The Display Panel is the only panel that is located on the left side of the screen and doesn't have an icon in the top right of the window. Look for the icon on the left directly under the title of the Current View and the Criteria Bar.

Add or Remove Columns

Click on the Display Panel icon to open the panel on the left. At the top of the list are two options:

• Reset will restore all columns. If columns are hidden by default, they will be hidden when you select Reset.
• Show All will turn on all columns. Columns that have been moved from the original position will retain the current position.
• Hide All will gray out all columns and then you can add which columns you want. This is an easy way to place the columns in the order you want them on the screen.

Below, there is a list of column names. Clicking on the name of the column will toggle the display of that column on and off. Click once and the column immediately disappears from the screen and the name on the list is now gray. Clicking on the column name again will restore it to the display. When you are done adding and removing columns, click on the Display Panel icon to close the panel.

Column Order

It's simple to change the column order of your datapp using two different methods.

Drag and Drop Method

To change the order of your columns using the drag and drop method:

1. Click on the Display Panel icon to activate the column functionality.
2. Click and hold on the column heading.
3. Drag it to the desired location and release.
4. Repeat this process for each column you want to move.
5. Close the Display Panel.

Select Display Order Method

To change the order of your columns by selecting the order in the Display Panel:

1. Click on the Display Panel icon to activate the column functionality.
2. Click on Remove All at the top of the Display Panel.
3. Click on the column names in the order you want them to appear in the window.
4. Close the Display Panel.

Column Order Tip

After adding and removing columns, don't forget to save as a Shortcut if this is your preferred way to view the data. Click the Default checkbox in the Shortcut Panel to make this the default view every time you open the datapp.

Fixed Columns

In many datapps, the columns that contain the most valuable information are "Fixed" on the left side of the page. They remain visible as your scroll to see more columns further to the right. In some situations, you may want to add or remove a column from the Fixed area.

As with all column changes, start by clicking on the Display Panel icon.

Fixed Columns Tips

• You can see which columns are fixed by scrolling to the right. The columns that don't move are Fixed to the screen. You can also tell by the position of the bottom scroll bar. The scroll bar begins on the right side of the last Fixed column.
• You cannot scroll Fixed columns on a device that uses a touchscreen. Always place the finger on the columns that move to scroll either vertically or horizontally.
